No, you did nothing wrong.
The ADUC integration is no longer available in Exchange 2007. You manage
mailboxes from the EMC on the Exchange server.

Hi all,
After installing Exchange Server 2007, I can not see the user Exchange
related tabs when I double click on a user name in "Active Directory Users
and Computer". Did I setup the Exchange in wrong? I used 2 servers: one
for domain controller and one for exchange server.
Thank you in advance,
Mehrdad
