Re: I want to use MailMarshal as edge

Hi,

You configured the send connector to send through an exchange server (with authentication)?

Remove authentication from the send connector and you should be fine.

Thank you for your response:
1. Send connector is forwarding to both dns name and ip of smarthost. I can
ping both the dns name and ip of smarthost
2. Mail marshall allows relaying by ip address and range. It is set to allow
both exchange servers.
3. Yes, server can resolve fqdn as far as i can tell
4. Yes, i can telnet to smarthost on port 25
5. Send connector is enabled
6. Where are smtp logs?
7. application log shows nothing of interest as far as i can tell

In the queue viewer, i see in the "Last Error"

451 4.4.0 Primary target IP address responded with: "451 5.7.3 Cannot
achieve Exchange Server Authentication. "Attempted failover to alternate
host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate hosts, or
delivery failed to all alternate hosts.

Anything else i can check?

thanks again

- Send Connector for address space * - is it set to forward to the right
smarthost IP address/fqdn?
- Are the authentication settings correct? (if the server needs to
authenticate with the smarthost)
- Can the server resolve the fqdn of the smarthost (if fqdn is used in
Connector settings)
- Does the server have SMTP connectivity to smarthost (telnet on smtp port)?
- Is the Send Connector enabled?
- Anything in the SMTP protocol logs?
- Anything in Application event log?
