Re: HA and the Hub Transport Server in Exchange 2007

More precisely, the two nodes in a CCR environment must be in the same Active Directory Site, but because you can stretch an Active Directory Site across multiple physical sites, you can deploy a geographically-dispersed CCR environment. See, for example, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201729.aspx and http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123996.aspx for more information on this.

See also, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124721.aspx which details HA for Exchange 2007 in general, and http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb676502.aspx for details on Standby Continuous Replication in Exchange 2007 SP1, which further extends your site resilience options by providing you with in-datacenter HA (using CCR) and site resilience (using SCR).

Hope this helps.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your reply.

Based on my research, CCR cluster can only be deployed in one site, it
can't cross two sites.

For redundancy, we need to deploy multiple Hub Transport role in each site.
If there is only one Hub Transport role in sites, if it fails, the Hub
Transport role in the other site will not help.

Help this helps.

If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,
