So the Outlooks clients are smart enough to find out that they've
been moved to a new server, right? So basically, the users wouldn't
notice that anything happened to them.

Yep.

I'm assuming that moving Public folders would be just as easy, right?

You first replicate them, then once the replicas work, you remove the
replication & remove the originals ....then you need to properly remove the
first server from the org (I'd first test by shutting it off to see if there
are problems).

Thanks so much.

Current Setup: A single Exchange 2000 server. Clients are running
Outlook XP or 2003.

The Exchange 2000 Server is a bit behind on specs and hard drive
space. We purchased a new Server 2003/Exchange 2003 server.

This is a fairly simple question that I'm researching: How do I get
everyone migrated to the new server gradually?

If I use Active Directory Users and Computers to Move the mailbox to
the new server,

That's not where you do it - it's in ESM.

does the client autmatically get updated with the new
path? Or, do their Exchange profiles have to be 'wiped out' and
reconfigured to the new server.

Just leave the old server up and running until you're totally done
moving everyone (and have replicated your PFs, removed the original
ones, etc) and all Outlook users will find their mailboxes
automatically the first time they try to connect.

Or, is there some other way?

Thanks much
