Re: Exchange Server 2007 Store.exe uses all memory & high CPU

So can you eliminate the hardware as the culprit or choke point? Compaq has some good tools to troubleshoot with. Run ExBPA again to see if you get any suggestions.

By the way, the server is a Proliant DL385 with 4 GB of RAM, and a Dual Core Opteron 2.6ghz processor.

We have 64 users. The roles this server is using are limited to hub, mailbox and client access.

I am seeing performance issues. I can't run "get-mailboxstatistics username". It will just hang the shell. Any other mailbox commands also hang up in the shell.

I am also seeing high RPC Averaged Latency spikes which are sustained for several minutes. Some users get a popup occasionally saying they have lost connection with the exchange server.

Exchange will use as much much memory as it needs and release it to other apps as needed. This is by design. Are you seeing performance issues? If so, have you considered increasing your RAM? You have no mention of amount of users or what roles this server is being used for?

I cannot find a triggering event.

Previously this seemed to be related to a piece of mail getting stuck in the queue, however I'm experiencing the same problem with no mail stuck.

I ran the performance troubleshooter which found NOTHING despite the fact that store.exe is using 26% utilization steady, with all physical ram, and all virtual ram.

Image name: store.exe
CPU: 25
Mem Usage: 2,306,068k
VM Size: 2,555,448k

Restarting the store service seems to be the only solution at this point, but the fix is temporary.
