Like a lot of other things... I've yet to come across the "perfect software product" that had all the stuff I needed in the first version.
What does the company do after it's sold that version? :)

Which is the way it should have been in all previous versions of Exchange.

By default, the max size of logs (directory) is restricted to 250 Mb or 30 days.
Max file size for single tracking log file is 10 Mb.
You can get these parameters using Get-TransportServer, and change them using Set-TransportServer.

In Exch 2003, I enabled message tracking and it would create daily logs in the location I specified. In Exch 2007, I did not enable message tracking, but it works anyway. My concern is Exch 2007 maybe be creating daily logs some where or other. Is this happening or does Exch 2007 pull the message tracking from its own database and therefore I need not worry about cleaning up log files that may over flow my hard drive some day.
thanks!
