Re: Exchange 2007 frontend with Exchange 2003 backends

Hi,

yes, I use the /exchange virtual directory. In fact, when I use the url
https://externalfqdn/exchange, i get a popup. I enter my credentials
(DOMAIN\username and my password). Then, the Exchange 2003 form based
authentication interface is displayed and I have to enter my credentials a
new time. Using the same credentials, I get an HTTP ERROR 500 and the
mailbox is not displayed. I use the same certificate authority for the
certificates on backend and frontend servers. I don't have any host headers
on the servers (I found a KB which explains this can be a problem). I
unchecked the "show friendly http errors" in IE and the HTTP 500 is replaced
by "Error not specified".

Are you using the https://servername/exchange URL?

Hi,

we currently use Exchange 2003 (1 FE server, 2 BE servers). I added a
frontend Exchange 2007 and a new backend Exchange 2007 (for hosting the
mailboxes of the first back end server).
I'm unable to use the new frontend Exchange 2007 to open the mailboxes
hosted on the Exchange 2003 backend. Do you have some recommandations or
links about this kind of migration ?

Thanks

JB.
