OWA works, but RPC https keeps asking for a Username

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hello,
I get the following to work in OWA IE. https://server.domain.com this
is using Exchange 2003.
I set this URL in mail properties. It connects to the server and
prompts for a password, i enter domain\username and my password. (i
was tricked here as it suggested server\username originally)
It keeps giving me the same box even when i tick the box to remember.
It does not go any further as i can enter this password 8 times
without procedding any further.
This is a single mail server in this environment, so the option to
select this server as a front end server is not ticked.
Can anyone suggest a few areas that could be causing as i am out of
ideas?
The URL is definetly correct as it works in OWA.
Thanks Greatly.
