Just a follow-up on my results. Sorry I didn't post it sooner.
Almost every step as I laid it out worked like a charm. THe only thing that
was required, which I did as a last minute thing and at the request or
subtle suggestion by the client, to copy the Program Files\Exchsvr folder to
the other drive. After installing Windows and getting it up to date, copy
that folder into Program Files and BEFORE you run setup with the
/disasterrecovery switch.
Oh, one more thing. the E or F drive became D drive. So I had to change the
settings in ADSI Edit to reflect that.
Lastly I copied the start menu short cuts for Exchange too and copied them
back into All Users after the installation.
Works like a charm now.
