Hard to say as a general rule, although if they're on separate RAID
arrays/spindles it's a Good Thing. Re partitions - a single array with
multiple partitions is really just divvying up the space for your
organizational benefit, not Exchange's.

I was thinking of going along the lines of a DELL PowerEdge 2950 with 6
Drive Option and create 3 RAID1 arrays, one for the system, for the
information store and one for the Transactional logs.

I haven't had a chance to read the document in the link Tony posted about
setting up a high availability exchange server but if it's anything like an
SQL server then the requirements will be similar.

I only have about 80 users so load isn't going to be high but they do send
rather large attachments which is why storage space is key (without going
for an additional solution that strips out attachments and replaces them
with a link toa file on a storage server).

Cheers
