Hello,
The Technet download is x64 bit only. The license key determines if it's
it's Standard or Enterprise Edition, not i386 or x64 bit. You need to get
the 32 bit evaluation version.
Cheers

I don't think that is it. There is only one version to download. It does
not
indicate if it is 32 or 64 bit. The website states "The product key used
determines which edition will be installed".

Looks like you have downloaded a wrong version of exchange.. download
exchange 2007 x86 for 32 bit OS or exchange 2007 (64) for 64 bit
hardware

Hi,
I downloaded "Exchange Server 2007 Standard and Enterprise Editions
(English)" from "TechNet Subscriber Downloads" as file:
en_exchange_2007_standard_and_enterprise_dvd_x12-98653.iso
Because it is over 4.5GB, I can't burn it to a DVD, so I attach it as
an
image file to Windows 2003 R2 Enterprice Edition which is running under
my
Virtual Server 2005 R2. When I click the Setup.exe, found in the root
of the
image file, I get the following message. Any ideas what might be
wrong?
"The image file F:\Setup.EXE is valid, but is for a machine type other
than
the current machine".
