Re: Exch5-5 to Exch2003 (on cluster) inter-org migration

Hi,

Install an exchange 2003 server and join the existing domain that is the
best solution in my opinion.

If you install the first exchange 2003 server on low level hardware (this
server should only support the SRS) and then install the 2003 cluster you
can move everything directly to the cluster - no need to move it to the
first server.

When you have removed the 5.5 servers you can then use this
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822931/en-us to remove the first server
(after removing the SRS component).

Hello

Exch5.5 in a resource domaine account
Futur Exch2003 in a trusted Forest., on a cluster (no SRS)
Same SMTP domain wanted kept
many users accessing many resources mailboxes
resources malboxes bein accessed by many users also.

What is the easies way, please ?

a)
As the exch2003 on CLUSTER can't join the exch5.5 organisation :
Exch5.5 - new exch2003 organization - ADMT - ADC inter-org - Mailboxe
Migration
Outlook profile have to be completely re-created

or

b)
Exch5.5 - New(temporary)Exchange2003 - join Exch55organization
move mailboxes from Exch55-to-TPOExch2003
(second) move mailboxe from TPOExch2003 -> NewClusterExch2003
Coexistence between all 3 servers (progressive migration)
beneficites ? -> all ACL on mailboxes kept, -> automatic outlook profile
change, "simple" Move mialboxe Exchange task..

is solution (b) make-able ? What I miss is some knowledge on the complete
implication of the missing SRS capabilities on the clustered Exchange...

Anyone having done that before can give me some advices?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

ps: please scuse my english errors
