Re: Can't backup Exchange store after Exchange sp2 upgrade

You might try reinstalling the Exchange Agent. From what you describe,
Backup Exec doesn't seem to think it's there.

Yes. It has been working but quit with the Windows Server SP1/Exchange
Server
SP2 upgrade.

Did you purchase and install the Exchange Agent for Backup Exec?

Then let me rephrase the response. It gets further into the process.
When
I
try to do a selection set in BackupExec, the information store does not
show
up, only the drives themselves. When I use ntbackup.exe it will allow
me
to
select the stores. When I try the same thing with my frontend server
using
BackupExec, I can see the stores. BTW, both systems are being accessed
from
the same backup server. I only have the problem on the cluster. I was
wondering if I missed a hotfix along the way or if there was something
blocking the access to the store. For instance, if it had started
filtering
on the client version and I am using an older client on the backup
server.

I've been trying to find a way to contact the vendor all day. They used
to
have a good support policy but now with out a contact I can't seem to
get
them to talk to me.

Well, appears isn't quite what I was looking for.
Back it up to disk, set up the RSG and then restore the store into the
RSG. There's no test like this for PFs but if the MB store goes into
the RSG you can assume the backup to be broadly ok.

If that does work properly then your next call is to the backup
vendor.
