Re: Removing Exchange 5.5 from AD

Not knowing your reasons for a "green field" build of Exchange 2003, I want
to share my opinion that this method is likely to cause substantial extra
work for you and confusion for your users.

We are looking to remove Exchange 5.5 from our current network and was
wondering what is the best way of doing this without impacting the
network.
Our primary domain controller is Windows 2000 Server which acts as the
main
file server. We have another Windows 2003 server which runs strictly
applications and file sharing. Then we have this Windows 2000 server that
has Exchange 5.5 on it. We would like to gently remove Exchange and this
server from Active Directory and the network in order to bring in a whole
new Windows 2003 Server with Exchange 2003. This will be a "from scratch
installation."

Thank you for your help in advance!

Robert
