Why does it work on the LAN without SSL?

I'm trying to get Outlook to work using RPC over HTTP. I can make it
work fine on the LAN but not on the WAN. I'm not using SSL but I
intend too once I make it work over the WAN without. I have modified
the registry on the Exchange server to include AllowAnonyomus. OWA
works fine from the WAN. I'm pulling my hair out and if anyone can
shed some light on making this work I would greatly appreciate it.
You have to use SSL. Undo the registry change you made. Forward port 443
inbound to your Exchange server's LAN IP....and set up an SSL certificate
if you haven't bought one from a third party.
