Ok, but I don't have a choice in this and need to be able to work with these
tools. So how do I recover a mailbox that has been purged from exchange -
The deleted mailbox recovery is not an option once a mail box has been
purged. So, how do I do it using BackupExec even if it is crappy?

1. Brick backups are a waste of time and tape. You should consider using
Deleted Item Recovery and Deleted Mailbox Recovery for such recovery
requirements.
2. Don't know.
3. That should be feasible.

We have BackupExec 10 with the exchange agent and are doing brick layer
backups.
I created a user called Test User with alias Test_User. I have no problem
restoring mail items to it, but when I delete the mail box and purge it,
I'm not able to restore the mailbox from tape. I keep getting an access
denied error massage.
I also tried to create the mail box again and when I do that I cannot
restore anything not even mail items.
1. Can mail boxes be restored to Exchg 2003 from tape using brick-layer
backups?
2. When I go to select the mailbox to restore in BackupExec it list the
mailbox name like this: Test User[Test_User-1]. What does the
[Test_User-1] mean and where is it coming from? Could that be the
problem?
3. Can I restore the entire First Storage Group database using the
Recovery Storage Group and then extract the mailbox data and move it to
the appropriate user?
Thanks.
