You must have missed some. Have you relocated the replicas of the system
folders?

At this time, I had removed the replicas, and I tried to delete the server
again, and still receive the same error.

Remove all replicas from the Exchange 5.5 server. You can use PFMigrate
or PFDAVADMIN to do thais. Don't forget certain of the system folders.

Please give me a hand if you can. I will tell you where we are at.
We have migrated from an exchange 5.5 server to a 2003 server. All of
our public folders and mailboxes have been copied over and are working
properly.

I verified that the public folders had all been moved.
As per Microsoft instructions I stopped all exchange services on the old
server. And using the exchange 5.5 administrative tool went to the
servers section to delete the 5.5 server. It verifies the server is
unaccessible, and I confirm I want to delete the server and public
folders.
Then I receive this message:
The server could not be deleted because some public folders were not
successfully moved to a different server.
You do not have the permissions required to complete the operation on
the information store

Microsoft Exchange Information Store
ID no: c1040af3"

At this time I have followed all of the microsoft recommended
procedures, resyncing, etc.. I have even verified it and it's been
almost a month
now with no progress.
At first I thought some of the folders hadn't been rehomed, but after
using several tools I have yet to find one that is homed on the old
server.
They all state that they are on the new server.

I had the thought of going into the exchange 5.5 server and deleteing
the public folder store. And then trying to delete the server. But I
don't
want to do that if it will screw things up even more.
At this point I've had the server turned off for about 2 weeks with no
problems other then 1000's of messages stating the system can't find the
old server.

Yes, there are some system public folders still on the exchange 5.5
server. None of the public folders on the 5.5 server contain any items
that I can determine. And the 2003 public folders are currently working
correctly.

I did use the pfmigrate.wsf program last night
and told it to add the replicas for the system folders, which aparently
are
still there. But according to the program they don't contain anything.
Which brings me back to the question of whether I should just delete the
public folder store from the exchange 5.5 site. The other question would
be
is there a permission problem somewhere, as it is the account I have
been
using is set as the admin inside the exchange site at the root level. I
have
verified all the way down to the public and private stores that the
account
has full admin access. Is there somewhere else that the permissions
could be
wrong? or is this one of those you can't delete active objects type
things?

There is a public folder called "article index" on the 5.5 public
folders section(I've never seen it
before). In the 2003 system manager I can see all of the system folders.
Which all look like they are homed on the 2003 exchange.
I think I have already done this on the exchange 5.5 server (I haven't
found any specific directions on how to show them.)

If I were to delete the public folder store from the 5.5 server, what
would be the repurcusions? Would it mess up the items in the 2003 public
folders or anything else?

Also ever since I tried to delete the 5.5 server, different sections of
the 5.5 server seem like some of the data for it seems to have been
deleted.
Any ideas, or suggestions or anything, please let me know asap!
