You'll be okay. You can change their UPN to the @company.com by adding
another UPN to the domain and changing the users if you want.

I know that it can be confusing regarding the UPN different from the
e-mail,
and this has of course been one of my issues, but the biggest concern was
if
I would end up with a problem regarding the e-mail extension. I clearly
doesn't.
Thanks,
Anders

The Active Directory domain name has absolutely nothing to do with the
e-mail domain name. However, consider the effect this might have on your
users, since they'll be able to log on with their UPN, i.e.,
userid@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To reduce confusion, I prefer to keep them the
same. However, I do understand the necessity to sometimes subordinate
AD's
DNS to a company DNS, so you may not have any choice. Technically,
there's
no problem with your approach.

Hi, I am about to migrate a NT4 domain with Exchange 5.5 to a Windows
2003
AD
and Exchange 2003. I am not doing an "in-place" upgrade because of old
environment hardware, instead I have started with new servers and a new
AD.
To do this progress I follow the Microsoft Best Practice doing this,
including the deployment preparations of Exchange 2003.
Now I am ready to migrate the user accounts before I continue to
install
the
actually Exchange server, but I have had a second thought about my
setup!
Instead of using the domain mycompany.com (in the new environment) I
use
net.mycompany.com - will this be a problem when I migrate the exchange
with
the e-mail extention mycompany.com domain?
Was this clearly written or was is total nonsens?
Regards
Anders
