Hi,
I am planning a migration of the Mail Server hardware to new serverwith
different hardware. My Exchange databases are laying on the SAN so I do not
need to move any EDB and STM files around at all. This is the process i want
to follow but need advice if this is correct.
1. Take existing Exchange offline.
2. Reset exchange computer account in AD
3. Join New server to domain with the same IP and Hostname
4. Run the Exchange Setup with the disaster recovery switch
5. Reboot Server
6. Open ESM and check if all Mailbox Stores are offline and mapp them to the
correct databases...
7. Mount Databases...
Is this procedure correct...
No, not really.
When you reset the computer account in AD, what does this do??
Also will the disaster recovery switch put back ALL the settings for ESM e.g
Routing protocols, SMTP, Ricipient Policies etc etc etc.....
Take a look at:
