On another note, is there a simple way to programatically add/delete an

Try authenticating once without saving the password (to clear the old
password), completely log off and then try re-checking that box. A
workaround as well, but much less invasive.

Outlook never prompted for password when it is opened. The only one
time that the password was prompted was during adding the profile in
Control Panel | Mail.

Once the password is changed in OWA, the password prompt comes every
time
Outlook is opened.

What I had to do is to go to Control Panel | Mail and remove the
existing
profile. Then I added back the profile with the new password. This
seems to be a workaround as the password prompt doesn't come back until
the next password change.

Let me know if there is a better way. I can't imagine walking users
through re-creating their profiles every time they change their
passwords
(or, their passwords expired, etc.).

ps. Again, Outlook clients connect through RPC/HTTP. Users and server
are not on the same network.

Outlook will always ask for a password if the workstation is not
logging
into the domain or using cached credentials. If the user is logged
into
the domain and Outlook is asking repeatedly, then you can change the
"Always ask..." option in the profile.

Well, here is the sequence of events...
a. The user changed the password through OWA Options.
b. The user then opens Outlook, and the user name/password prompt
appears asking for authentication.
c. The new password is entered with the Remember My Password checkbox
checked, and Outlook proceeds to the Inbox.
d. The user then closes Outlook and reopens Outlook.
e. The user name/password prompt appears again despite the Remember My
Password checkbox was already checked in step c.

How can I get Outlook to remember the new password so the user can
avoid typing in password every time Outlook is run ??

The user would need to provide the new (changed) password. The
authentication store stays the same regardless of where or what
application the user uses to change their password.

They should be prompted to provide and save the password IIRC.

HTTP, what would happen when the user changes password from OWA
Options ? Does the user's password need to be changed in Outlook as
well ?
