Re: eMail delivery delays

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Dear James,

Regaridng to your problem, did you face this problem only when you upgraded
your Exchange Server to SP2 ? was it working fine before the upgrade ?

How is your Exchange Servers sends External Emails ? using SMTP Connector ?
or by configuring the SMTP Virtual Server of your Exchange Server with
External DNS Servers ?

are you using your Internal DNS as Forwarder to External DNS Servers ?

In first case, if you are using SMTP Connector, please check the proporties
of the SMTP Connector, under Delivery Options tab, make sure that you used
first option which is "specify when messages are sent through this
connector" option, make sure it set to "Always Run".

please let me know the status of your problem now.

Aloha...;-)

Ben, it's the external emails that are hanging up.

I reviewed the event logs no errors, the DNS appears to be working. I can
browse the DNS and all entries look ok.

Thank you,

James

I recently upgraded our 2003 exchange server to sp2, and did so after
running a repair install.

There are a couple issues one with OWA and one with outbound delays.

What would be causing our emails to take upto 4 hours to be delivered?
This is a critical issue and your support would be greatly
appreciated.

Thank you,

James
