I have two servers machines now i want to use both for exchange
server 2003 i want to use both machines as a seperate domain
controllers how i can setup both machines the scenario is
1. Both Machines Replicate the data
AD? Sure. Public folders? Sure. Files? Sure. Mailboxes? Nope, unfortunately.
2. i want to setup one machine as a master server other one is backup
machine
There's no such thing...domain controllers are peers (although there are a
few 'special' roles)
3. in case master machine goes down because of any hardware failure
client automatically moved to backup machine with all the data as on
master machine
Not for mailboxes, nope.
4.after some time server will delete the mails of user how can i set
rule on server to delete user email after 5 or 10 days.
?
5 i know how to setup exhange server for internet mail if master
machine goes down backup machine have same configuration how to setup
all the matters if we want to run two machines in one enviorment
Again, there is no way to replicate mailboxes. You could look into a
cluster, but this is expensive, and still relies on the same shared hardware
for disk/data. It's likely overkill for you.
any reply higly appiriciated
It's probably better for you to make sure your Exchange server is a member
server but running on very good hardware, with redundant disks/power
supply/whatnot. Make sure you're doing good backups. Monitor things daily.
Keep spare hardware around for a restore if needed.
Thanks
