Hi all...
Just new to Exchange and I'm wondering this. I have people hosting
their websites with me and all are on a POP mail server. Now, I
personally would like OWA access for myself and some key clients so I'm
toying with Exchange server 2003.
Is it possible to setup some accounts on the server to be full accounts
with OWA and contacts and calendar etc and other with just POP mail
service?
Any insight would be great.
Thanks
Certainly. If you look on the properties of your mail enabled user
accounts you will find that you can set each protocol on a user by
user basis. If you have a bulk change to do you can use ADMODIFY to
select the necessary users and hit the changes there.
The mailbox is the mailbox. You don't have a mailbox that does OWA and
one that "just" does POP. You can use any protocol to get to any
mailbox but it's just the limitations of the client protocol that
determine what you can and can't do.
