Sending email problem
I'm trying to setup Exchange 2003 in the following environment:
1 Access Internet email sitting on ISP server
2 Send email via pop connector
3 route internal email
So far, pop connector works fine and Internal emal work OK. However, when
using E-mail & Internet Connection Wizard, I get an error and the end of the
wizard.
In the setup steps I choose the following:
1 Enable Internet e-mail
2 Forward all e-mail to server at your ISP
I use the SMTP server address provide by my ISP (which is the same
one I have been using in Outlook for years)
3 E-mail Retrieval Method (Use the MS Connector for POP3 Mailboxes)
4 E-mail domain name (Blank)
5 Added POP3 Mailbox Accounts
When I click "Finish", I get an error message and then select OK. On the
Wizard window, all of the steps get a check mark except "E-mail
Configuration".
Please note that I can ping the ISP's SMTP server but not telnet to it. If
I try to telnet, I get a "could not open connection to host on port 23:
Connect failed" message. Any guidance available?
