What Exchange version?
Front-ends do not have any specific capability to tackle spam. If SMTP is
installed on a front-end server, it pretty much behaves like SMTP on a
back-end. In other words, it's not "front-ended".
With SMTP on the FE, you can use any and all of the anti-spam/message
hygiene features of Exchange Server 2003 - Connection Filtering, Sender
Filtering, Recipient Filtering, Sender ID and Intelligent Message Filter
(IMF).

I read some where about a method of using a front server to help filter
spam. Anyone acquainted with this technique?
Can you point me in the direction where there is some info on configuring
this scenario.
