Fail to updateExchange 5.5 SP3 to SP4! Directory is busy?

Hi I think I am really outdated to update my 5.5 server to SP4 NOW. But we
need to because of moving on to 2003.
Anyway I have a problem which keep me failing in the lab.
The server is the only exchange srv in our office as well as in the NT4
domain which has trust to our headoffice in UK.
We dare not risk our live server so we have a clone which is isolated from
the production LAN.
Update.exe runs well, and all files are copied, but it keeps on running to
the end and failed with tones of error event in application log showing the
"xxxxx cannot be imported. diectory is busy." Event ID 282...
I need helps from experts and all of u. Thanks.
