When you telnet to the new server, are you doing so from an external source?
I assume you can send outbound email?

Hi All,
I have installed exchange 2003 onto SBS2003 on a new faster server, on the old server exchange 2003 was running on SBS2003, so no change there.
I googled for exchange setup and found some easy to follow instructions, I also found instructions on how to test the config is right through telnet.
I can telnet to my Mail.domainname.com and send a test email to mark@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx but I can not send mail to mark@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx from hotmail.
If I swap back to my other server all works fine.
I keep the same IP as that is assigned to my router.
I con't work out how I can telnet to my server and send test mail to my self but I can not recieve it from an external source!!!
any help will be appreachated.
Many Thnaks
Mark
