Re: Failed to open the group policy object

Sounds like an FRS problem that's unrelated to Exchange.

After the system booted, did it generate the EventViewer entries indicating that file replication was enabled and the system was acting as a domain controller?

Hi,

I have a domain controller (W2K) with active diretory and SP4 installed on
it. I would like to edit the domain controller security policies.

Recenly I installed microsoft exchange server 2003 on the same domain
controller. After doing so I am not able to get access to the domain
controller security policies and not even to the domain security policies.

While I try to open it, it says " Failed to open the group policy object.
You may not have appropriate rights." though I login as administrator
privilage.

I have navigated to the C:\Winnt\Sysvol\sysvol\<domain>\ however the
policies folder is not there and hence I cannot drill down any further.

Need help on this urgently.
