OWA on different server than Exchange 2003

Hi there to all genius,
just changing from NT4/Exch5.5 to Win2003/Exch2003 ... so after all I
managed to build an ADS Domain (own Server) and the Exchange2003 Server ...
OWA is working ... BUT I DIDN't want to place the Exch2003 into the DMZ and
forward Port 80 or 443 to the internal IP ... with Exch5.5 itwas possible to
install the OWA on my Webserver in the Domain and tell the connector to use
the internal Exchange server. So is it really true that this isn't anymore
possible with 2003 ? What setback.
So I have to redirect all incoming traffic Port 80 on my router/firewall to
my mail server if I use http ... and if I use https I will have to route
traffic for Port 443 to my exchange server ! So in that case I have to use
https and a certificate or that internetfreaks will toast my exchange server
... very funny to kill that connector or I am wrong and there is still
somewhere a different solution ? (like that in Exchange 5.5) ... I could have
lost that Webserver (no OUTSIDE OWA, but still inside everything was fine,
nobody ever in that last 8 years crashed the exchange5.5 but a dozen times
the Webserver was down ... and his only purpose was for OWA and Blackburry)
but to loose the Exchange Server for some hours would be a pain.
So anyone could confirm, would be nice, so I could continue with my
testinstallation and configure the router/firewall new :-(
THX in advance and have a nice day
.
