We are upgrading from Winsdows 2000 Exchange 2000 to 2003. We need to install all new Hard Drives.
This there any issue with the setup below or is there a better way?
Delete Exchange from AD Q325323
Build new server Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003 same hostname
Run Forestprep and Install Admin Tools only
Create a First Admin Group KB271882 same before
Install Exchange 2003 and use the same Organization Group
Move the databases to the same location as before
Restore database from the Exch 2000 backup
So the Org, First Admin Group, Server name, Database locations are the same
as before.
This there any issue with the setup above or is there a better way?
Re: Exchange 2007 on new Win2008x64 Hyper-v wont install... ... Are you running SETUP from your install media/source 'As Administrator'?... Doesn't seem exchange team included ... Just open the source media folder, right click on SETUP and choose 'Run As ... (microsoft.public.exchange.setup)

Looking at the link you provided I tried the "Setup... command can be run on the server which will later run Exchange (which I ... think it's referring to the install source - but copy the whole CD to the ... user has local administrator permissions.... And i don't think it has even started the install process as when i clicked the link of step 4, a short seconds of hour glass and then the error pops up.That's why i kind of have difficulty moving on as there are no logs to indicate except the event log previously mentioned about .Net ... I've searched all log files especially with the new date and time or at the time I run the setup but i can't find any log that relates to exchange installation.... (microsoft.public.exchange.setup)
