Hi.
I understand You wanna deploy a completely new exchange environment in your
business? That's a little bit mor sophisticated task, where You should either
read some deployment guide or get someone with know-how on board, as there
are more considerations then mail routing.
However, You need at minimum the following:
- an static public IP address assigned to the Exchange Server or
Port-Mapping on Your NAT server to forward any incoming SMTP to the private
Exchange Server IP address
- registered public DNS Domain for Your business (I expect, You have that
already)
- either configure Your SMTP server to forward outgoing traffic to a Smart
Host provided by Your ISP or ensure, that Your SMTP server is able to resolve
foreign domains in public DNS (Port 53)
- open Port 25 (SMTP) for incoming and outgoing traffic on the firewall
- MX records in Your public DNS domain adjusted to Your SMTP Server IP
address.
- and of course correctly configured SMTP Server / Connector
You should however check for issues with open relaying, antivirus,
redundancy, performance, backup, etc..
Hope, it helped You somehow..
