I have E2K3 installed on W2K3 in full native mode.
Suddenly 3 days ago, I noticed a tremendous load on my Internet connection.
Upon further analysis, I saw that there was an outgoing SMTP connection from
my Exchange server to mx1.business.mindspring.com (sometimes mx2, mx3,
etc.), that was sending a tremendous amount of data and never closed.
Nothing appears in the E2K3 System manager qusues as outgoing for the
server. Even turning off Outgoing Mail in the System Manager SMTP server
queue doesn't stop this. There are no files in the Exchange or IIS queue
directories.
Relaying is disallowed on my server.
I canstop this by closing the SMTP service (duh), or by closing the
Microsoft Exchange Information Store service. None of the other
Exchange-realted processes cause this phenomenon.
.
Help!
TIA
Lavie
