Hello,

we have an exchange 5.5 environment (4 servers) and have been adding 5
exchange 2003 servers into it, in readiness for us starting our migration. We
have only one Exchange site in our exchange organization. We also have an
active directory 2003 environment, with 5 sites. In the Exchange system
manager, when i go into the properties of these exchange servers, choose the
security tab and look under the advanced button, it looks as though all of
the permission entries are inheriting their permissions from a parent object.
Which parent object is this? If I look at the site properties which was
originally set up under Exchange 5.5, it does not have any of these
permissions. Hence I am confused as to how exactly these permissions are
created. It also seems that each new exchange 2003 server that is added has
some different permissions from the other exchange 2003 servers, however they
all indicate that the permissions were inherited from a parent object. Does
this mean that some of my exchange 2003 servers have different parent objects?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Simon
