I am working with a client on setting up his Exchange cluster. I have been
asked to configure everything so that they can access OWA from outside the
network via SSL on 2 different fqdns. For example:
webmail.domain1.com
and
webmail.domain2.com
I've come up with a solution that seems to work, but I just want to make
sure it is proper / supported / etc.
What I've done is:
1) Take the Exchange cluster group offline.
2) Create a new IP resource.
3) Add the new IP resource as a dependency of the existing Exchange Virtual
Server Network Name resource.
4) Bring the Exchange cluster group online.
5) Create a new HTTP Virtual Server in System Manager, binding it to the new
ip and creating an SSL identity for it at the same time.
6) Add a new HTTP Server instance to the cluster using the new HTTP Virtual
server with the only depency being the System Attendant.
7) Add the proper SSL cert in IIS Manager to the new HTTP server.
8) Test.
I can logon to the new OWA site, send mail, etc.
Is the correct way to go about it? Am I forgetting anything?
Any comments or suggestions are most appreciated.
Thanks,
RS
