We are currently upgrading from 5.5 to 2003 and have a problem with
OWA access.
Internally we have 4 servers:
mailA
mailB
mailC
mailD
with DNS forwarders and host headers set up as:
webmailA
webmailB
webmailC
webmailD
These are also published via RSA, ISA and SSL as:
https://webmailA.ourcompany.com
https://webmailB.ourcompany.com
https://webmailC.ourcompany.com
https://webmailD.ourcompany.com
Situation 1: A user who's mailbox is on mailA goes to http://webmailA
the server redirects to http://webmailA/exchange - all is well
Situation 2: A user who's mailbox in on mailB goes to http://webmailA
the server redirects to http://mailB/exchange - all is well as the
internal DNS works fine
Situation 3: A user who's mailbox is on mailA goes to
https://webmailA.ourcompany.com
the server redirects to https://webmailA.ourcompany.com/exchange - all
is well
Situation 4: A user who's mailbox is on mailA goes to
https://webmailB.ourcompany.com
the server redirects to https://mailb.ourcompany.com/exchange - which
we have not (and do not want to) published externally so it breaks
Firstly, is there any way to tell Exchange the alternate DNS of the
other servers?
Secondly, due to RSA requiring authentication for each server you try
to access (we link to each webmailx via an SSL published intranet) a
user has to log in twice to access their webmail, once on the intranet
and once on the webmail. What we want to do is move the SSL intranet
to the ISA on mailA and then have the webmail as /exchange on the SSL
intranet. Obviously if the OWA is going to redirect to the home
server's OWA this will still force an RSA logon to the new server. Is
there any way around this.
TIA
