It is possible that NTLM is not selected as an authentication method for
LDAP in the 5.5 site
If this is the cause of your issue, you can verify, and resolve it by:
In the Exchange 5.5 Admin tool, expand Configuration/Protocols and go to the
Properties of LDAP (Directory) Site defaults
On the Authentication tab, be sure that "Windows NT Challenge Response" is
selected.
Once this is selected, the DSScopeScan should run successfully (no restart
of
services needed).
