Hi,
I am a VB.NET developer. My current application requires me to send emails
from my code. This is no problem in my current environment, using Outlook
2000 and dial up connection to an ISP.
However, I need to test my app in an Exchange server environment. The
problem is I don't know the first thing about Exchange.
I don't actually need to send the emails to the outside world, just mimic
it.
I do need to understand the use of global address lists, and have access to
these in my app.
I have installed Exchange on a server on my domain, following the setup
prompts and taking the defaults.
Can any please help on the following points:
How do I set up global address lists.
How do I link my local install Outlook to use the Exchange Server.
How do I send the email to the Exchange Server.
Is my Exchange server a SMTP server.
As you can see I am looking for a simple guide to configuring Exchange and
Outlook. Nothing complicated, just the basics.
Many thanks
Tim
