I have got a bit further with this but am still encountering problems. Having
got an Outlook client to connect from the Windows 2000 domain to the Exchange
2003 server (Windows 2003 domain) and open a mailbox from a migrated user
(although having had to delete most of the emails first to reduce the mailbox
size) I have re-migrated that users mail in full. My guess was that now that
some basic synchronisation had occurred, maybe I could get the full mailbox
opened this time. I re-migrated the user mailbox and associated it with the
user account in the Windows 2003 domain in place of the small mailbox that
had worked. I then open the outlook client within the Windows 2000 domain and
attempt to open the Windows 2003 user's mailbox. I know get open in the
background the cached small mailbox (this is a good start) and then it asks
me for a username and password for the mailbox (also good), but then it won't
stop asking me for my credentials even though I know they are correct and
work (I have tried the through IMAP & OWA from the Windows 2000 domain and
they work). If I open the Exchange Server Connection Status dialogue box it
shows that Directory connections to the Exchange 2003 server have established
successfully over HTTPS (remember I am using RPC over HTTPS) yet the Mail
connections are disconnected. The credentials request box continually pops up
asking for username and password which I know are right and work with that
mailbox when I connect using IMAP or OWA. Its just an Exchange connection
that it cannot do.
Any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully received.
