I have a domain with a single active directory. I am
running the "ForestPrep" in the Active directory Schema
box (Eagle Win 2k).
(Extra information) I also have an exchange 5.5 server in
another box (Hawk Win 2k). I am trying to install a new
2003 Exchange server in a new box (MSEXHCANGE 2k3).
When I ran the ForestPrep at eagle a get the following:
On the ACTION I do not get the ForestPrep option and when
I go and click on the dropdown arrow next to the action
heather, I am able to select it. Once I
select "ForestPrep" a Microsoft Exchange Installation
Wizard box appears with the following message.
"The component "Microsoft Exchange Forest Preparation"
cannot be assigned the action "ForestPrep" because: -
Either you do not have permission to update the Active
Directory schema or Active Directory service is currently
too busy."
Under the Component name I see the Microsoft exchange 5.5.
I tried to run this at midnight and I got the same
result.
Question:
1. What should I do to complete this step?
2. Should I run the DomainPrep utility at the eagle
computer?
2. I am running the ForestPrep utility from the eagle
machine. Is this right?
Please advise!
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and help with
this issue.
