Also the "other place" you are testing from may actually be blocking port 25. For example if you are doing this testing from your home machine.

What type of firewall? Can you see in logging file on your firewall that its actually passing through successfully?

I setup a new Exchange 2007 server (Windows 2008). I'm still testing.
When I use telnet (telnet private-IP-address 25) from our network the mail server acts fine.
When I use the same telnet from another place using the public ip address (telnet public-IP-address 25) then there is no reaction from the server. I opened port 25 on our router (NAT & firewall)
What else do I have to do?
