Hi Customer,
Thanks for your update. I am afraid that your request cannot be implemented
by default according to Exchange working mechanism. Let me do further
explanation as below.
Exchange Server 2000/2003 is highly integrated into Windows Active
Directory. Mailbox is only an Exchange attribute of user object, which one
user can have one mailbox at most. Even though you can create two SMTP
Address in E-Mail address tab in ADUC, however, there is only one Primary
SMTP Address at all, which works as the following.
Exchange mailbox may have multiple SMTP addresses. For outgoing messages
Exchange server will always use the primary SMTP address. User doesn't have
right to choose which SMTP address to send mail. For example, John Doe has
a mailbox with john.doe@companya.com primary SMTP address and
john.doe@companyb.com secondary smtp address. John Doe can easily receive
the message addressed both to john.doe@companya.com and
john.doe@companyb.com, but he can not send the message as
john.doe@companyb.com because this behavior is by design in Exchange
server.
So based on the information above, I am afraid that the current steps are
the most suitable method for your situation. Hope I clarify the situation
clearly. If there is anything unclear, feel free to let me know. Thanks and
have a nice day!
Lee Li
