outlook folders won't open

I'm using Outlook 2003, and Exchange Server 2003. Account was recently
deleted from server. Coincidentally, I can no longer open mailbox folders:
there's an error message which says, "Unable to display folders." Folders
weren't deleted from the hard drive. So, are these two related? Could the
account being removed from the Exchange Server explain why I can't access
the folders, and, if so, how can I fix this problem? Thanks.
