You cant move a mailbox if the user account is disabled. If the user is disabled....have it enabled and wait for AD to replicate.
Exchange store this kind of information in its cache which by default is getting updated every two hour so wait for that to complete
to and try moving the mailbox again.

Old W2k server running as DC and GC, with Exch 2k contains all mailboxes.

I have checked to see that the default stores are running. The W2k Server
has been running for a long time and is shown as the GC. I ahve been through
article after article. (317338, 278966, 264413, 329685).

The Ex2k WAS in mixed mode until I changed it, but still am not getting
anywhere.
