GW5.5 is perfect for migration. GW4.1 to GW5.5 can all be migrated saftly.
It is GW6 migration that is unsupported by MS, but I have done one and it
worked fine. I am a CNE though, which helps.

This is mentioned in the link Mark Fugatt posted before.

Moving GW to Exchange5.5 on NT4 was the one that could give you the sort of
trouble you speak of. You won't have any problems of overwriting .DLL's or
other system files on Win2003.
