Hi Folks,
Strange one here. AD installed and running for over a year. Exchange
2000 enterprise . all DC's and exchange servers patched to date win2k
sp4.
Yesterday a new account was created with a mailbox. E-mail was sent to
the account and was recieved i.e. no sys admin messages.
User is unable to access mailbox. Mailbox doesn't show up in ESM. AD
users and Computers states that the mailbox is in its correct storage
group when you try to move the mailbox. Attempt to move mailbox
results in
Error: Opening source mailbox.
CN=test,OU=test,OU=test,OU=test,OU=test,DC=test:
The information store could not be opened.
The MAPI provider failed.
MAPI 1.0
existing user in this OU with its exchange mailbox in same storage
Group was able to be moved into another storage group and back.
Was able to create a working / usable mailbox for an existing old
account that previously did NOT have mailbox.
ldifde export informs me that the new user has a mailbox and attribs
etc.
legacyExchangeDN: /o=IPT Exchange/ou=First Administrative
Group/cn=Recipients/cn=username
I have obviously created other test accounts which have the same
issues i.e. the mailboxes don't appear to be accessable via active
dir.
The account used to create the users and mailboxes has all necessary
permissions.
Has anyone got any idea's where this damn mailbox is hiding ?
Also, if i have missed something stupid. I am quite happy to look a
fool as long
as i can sort it out :0)
Thanks in advance
