I see your point but what I need is the Exchange server to DROP all the e-mails for non existing users.
For example I have user1 , user2 .... userx
If somebody send an e-mail to Xuserx I want the mail to be dropped and an NDR to be generated.
Instead of this the exchange just receives the mail for the Xuserx and put it in queue until the mail expires.
The main problem is that I DO NOT HAVE an Xuserx but my exchange still receives the mail.

Mails for smtp addresses that don't have a match in AD should be delivered to whatever account has been assigned the postmaster@domain.com address. They shouldn't be left hanging in the ether. You probably need to add a postmaster@domain.com for each domain to your central undeliverable account. >-----Original Message----- >Hello. > >We are running Exchange 2000 / 2003 on a network with 800-1000 users. >We are receiving e-mails for 10-15 domains. >Some of the users receive email for 2 or 3 of this domains , some of them >have one , some of them for all. >All the incoming E-mails are managed by a smtp server on the DMZ and >forwarded to one of our Exchange servers that will distribute them >internally. >For outgoing mail we use one of the exchange servers that will send out the >e-mails directly. >All our domains have one MX record that is the SMTP server on the DMZ. >Now , the SMTP server accepts all e-mails for all the domains.
