As the context is missing I'll try a wild guess:
you are using ExOLEDB or CDOEx and try to access data from
a remote Exchange store, correct? Those APIs work only locally.

did you find any solution for this?
how did you fixed it?

If I guessed correctly: use another API: WebDAV (Ex2000/2003),
WebServices (Ex2007), Extended MAPI or CDO 1.21 (Ex 5.5-2007)
