Role Split

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I have a client that is looking for documentation on the splitting of Roles
for Exch 2007, particularly documentation stating that if you have x amount
of users you should have your hub transport/ client access and Mailbox DB
roles on spearate servers. I am personally partial to splitting the roles
and setting the Hub transport/Client access in the DMZ if they have one. In
this case the client has a DMZ and is planning fora total of 350 users for
exchange. currently the user total is about 260 but growth is expected and
email services are going to be made avaialble to other entities that are tied
to this client. Tha hardware is not in question, this is just a hunt for any
tangible MS documentation stating yes/no about splitting the roles with x
users using exchange.
