RE: RPC-over-http not connecting through NAT gateway

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi Robbin:

I've ran through all the troubleshooting tasks in the documents you linked
to. None of them has proved helpful. Most of these tests are geared toward
checking that the RPC server is correctly configured to support
RPC-over-HTTP, and that the client is correctly configured to use it. Please
keep in mind that my client works perfectly when connected to the LAN,
therefore the fundamental server and client requirements are fine. It only
stops working when trying to connect from the WAN.

It does not appear to be a firewall issue, since TCP Port 80 and Port 443
are both forwarded to the server through the NAT gateway, and OWA works
perfectly over HTTPS.

The one test I thought might be revealing was running "outlook.exe
/rpcdiag", but the Exchange Connection Status Windows just shows "connecting"
on every line in the status column. Nothing ever gets past "connecting".

Please advise.

Thanks,
Richard Koett.
