mail sits in que

I have several exchange servers at different sites, for different
domains/clients that seem to have the same problem and i can't figure
out what is going on. Everytime that a user sends an
email to most (90%) other domains, they sit in the que until they time
out. I don't get any errors in the smtp log, in fact, i don't get
anything, at all... no connection attempts, no nothing. The only way to
make them go through is to forward them through an isp smart host using
an smtp connector. I know of other people, using the same isp, that
don't have to do this.Their setup, as far as they can tell me, is
identical to mine. any ideas?
